Swing Sets for Irish Gardens
The BERG PlayBase is a steel frame that works as a swing set and then keeps going. Start with swings, add a slide, and swap in a climbing wall or a pull-up bar when the children are older.

Swing and slide sets
The Platform + Slide (€399) has a 150cm platform and a slide of nearly 3m. It fits the Medium, Large and Extra Large frames, so swings and a slide share one frame. A PlayBase Large (€1,749) with the Platform + Slide and a nest swing (€129) comes to €2,277.
Why a steel swing frame
- No treating or staining — the frame is powder-coated steel
- No concrete — free-standing frames are anchored in the ground
- 400kg maximum load on every frame
- 10-year frame warranty, 13 years when registered with BERG
- More than swings — climbing wall, basketball hoop and fitness accessories fit the same frame

Frequently Asked Questions
How many swings can I have at once?
It depends on the frame. Most swings use two carabiner points, so the PlayBase Wall takes one or two swings at once, the Medium two, the Large three and the Extra Large four.
Can I get a swing and slide set?
Yes. The Platform + Slide (€399) has a 150cm platform and a slide of nearly 3m, and fits the Medium, Large and Extra Large frames alongside the swings.
Is the PlayBase a wooden swing set?
No. The PlayBase is a powder-coated steel frame, so there is no timber to treat or stain. If you are set on timber, see our PlayBase vs wooden comparison first.
Does a swing set need concrete?
The BERG PlayBase does not. Free-standing frames are held by base sections buried in the ground, and the Wall frame fixes to a load-bearing brick or block wall.
What age are the swings suitable for?
The baby seat can be used from nine months with an adult pushing, up to 30kg. The swing seat, nest swing, trapeze and gym rings are for ages 3 and up.
